Works have proceeded with our Phase 1 works at Wembley Stadium. We are constructing a new entrance bridge from Olympic Way onto the main stadium concourse at Wembley Stadium. The frame comprises of 495 tonnes of traditional sections, including 813 CHS columns that were milled in Northern Italy, complimented by specialist fabricated plate girders (fabricated in house) with an off-site intumescent paint system to 60 minute fire rating.
The largest plate girders weighed circa. 20 tonne and all lifts, sling calculations and lift plans were carried out and managed by our Appointed Person and Lift Supervisors.
With the project split into two phases, our Phase 1 works have commenced and are now nearing completion. The next stage of the project is for the pre-cast concrete units to be installed to Phase 1 steel before the existing pedway ramps are demolished; our Phase 2 works will be commencing in November 2020.
The yellow framework shown within some of our images show the temporary works, which was designed by our Structural Engineers, to enable the frame to be phased with a 25% & 75% split. The temporary works will support the Phase 1 frame and pre-cast units during demolition of the existing ramps and will be removed upon completion of Phase 2.
