Project: East Grinstead

In 2012, as part of the Department for Transport’s Station Improvement Program, a new station building was erected next to the existing structure. The works also consisted a new platform, waiting shelters, bicycle facilities and the lengthening of the platform to accommodate for 12-car trains.

Hillcrest scope included for the primary and secondary structural steelwork and the feature glass canopy.

The new structure incorporates stainless steel feature columns, all fabricated by Hillcrest. The complexity of the job was increased by the restrictions of the site, situated next to a live track.
